【GE CHENG News】The Supreme People's Procuratorate: Crimes of infringing trade secrets doubled year-on-year from January to September this year

On October 25, the Supreme People's Procuratorate released data on the main cases handled by the Prosecutors' Office nationwide from January to September this year.

 

In terms of intellectual property prosecution, from January to September 2023, procuratorial organs across the country accepted and prosecuted a total of 22,000 people for intellectual property infringement crimes, a year-on-year growth of 49.7%. The crimes involved in the review and prosecution cases were mainly trademark infringement, with a total of more than 17,000 people; copyright infringement crimes and trade secret infringement crimes increased significantly, with over 2,000 people and over 260 people respectively, an increase of 1.95 times and 1 time respectively year-on-year. More than 1,900 intellectual property civil administrative prosecution and supervision cases were accepted by procuratorates nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 2.1 times. Among the above, there are over 1,700 civil prosecutorial supervision cases and 170 administrative prosecutorial supervision cases. More than 330 public interest litigation cases in the field of intellectual property rights have been filed and handled.
