In 2023, the patent authorizations of Beijing were 193,973, a year-on-year decrease of 4.31%, of which 107,875 were invention authorizations, up 22.41% year-on-year. As of December 2023, there were 574,323 valid invention patents, a year-on-year increase of 20.20%, and the number of invention patents per 10,000 people has reached 262.9, up 20.43% from a year earlier. The number of patents granted to HNTE (High Technology Expertise) in the Zhongguancun Science Park was 96,196, down 2.90% from a year earlier, of which 55,756 inventions were authorized, up 29.62% year-on-year. As of December 2023, the number of valid invention patents for high-tech enterprises in the Zhongguancun Science Park was 269,491, jumping 22.27% from a year earlier.
