Mr. David W. CHENG is a senior patent and trademark attorney and a judicial appraiser. He received his M.D. in Medicine from China Medical University and L.L.M. from law School of Peking University. Before starting his intellectual property practice in 1985, Mr. Cheng worked in the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College as a researcher. Mr. Cheng was the former vice president of NTD Patent & Trademark Agency Ltd and senior partner of Jeekai & Partners. Mr. Cheng did many prosecutions and litigations relating to patent, trademark and copyright, particularly for biochemistry, biotechnology as well as pharmaceuticals before courts. He wrote and translated many articles and books concerning the Chinese and foreign intellectual property laws. He is the President of FICPI China, and now a standing council member of the China Intellectual Property Society, All-China Patent Attorneys Association and LES China, a member of the legal scholars in the Center for International Legal Studies in Austria, FICPI, ACPAA, AIPPI, INTA, AIPLA PTMG and CIPA.
