The number of patent authorizations in Beijing in 2022 exceeds 200,000, the number of invention patents per 10,000 people ranks first over the country, the number of industrial intellectual property operation centers ranks first in China, and the comprehensive strength of intellectual property continues to take the lead. Recently, the white paper "The Status of Intellectual Property Protection in Beijing in 2022" was released.

In 2022, there were 203,000 patent authorizations in Beijing, including 88,000 invention patents, 387,000 trademark registrations, and 1.054 million copyright registrations. Fortunately, as of December 2022, the number of invention patents per 10,000 people in the city has reached 218.3, ranking first nationwide.

A good environment for intellectual property protection has been established. The market supervision system, Beijing Intellectual Property Office, Beijing Cultural Market Comprehensive Law Enforcement Corps, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Copyright, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Public Security, Beijing Customs and other units have formed a joint force in administrative enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Beijing’s first multi-mediation entity platform in the field of intellectual property protection - Beijing Intellectual Property Dispute Mediation Center was established last year, and 18 people's mediation committees for intellectual property disputes were founded, with a total of 5,815 disputes accepted and 3,777 cases successfully mediated.

As the end of 2022, there has been up to 5 industrial intellectual property operation centers in Beijing, ranking first in China. The establishment of an integrated circuit patent pool has also been promoted, with nearly 22,000 patents entered into the pool; more than 40 million yuan has been invested to support more than 100 small, medium and micro enterprises in purchasing and implementing patented technologies. The first trial of legal fee insurance for overseas intellectual property disputes has provided enterprises in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital security with risk protection of 42 million yuan.
