this year, the Intellectual Property Court has accepted 20,338 cases and concluded 17,638 cases; in the past five years, cases involving foreign parties account for about 10% of the courts, with an average annual growth of 28.6%. Among the invention patent authorization and confirmation cases, foreign-related cases account for as much as one-third, and cases that parties are all foreign entities have been increased; “China is the country with the most patent cases in the world and is increasingly becoming a preferred place for international intellectual property litigation.”

The data shows that in the past five years, the types of cases accepted by the court resonate with China's scientific and technological innovation, market competition and opening up to the outside world, with the proportion of cases involving strategic emerging industries exceeding 30%, invention patent cases increasing by an average of 30.9% per year, and an increasing number of cases with damages exceeding one hundred million yuan and cases found to constitute monopoly.
