According to the National Data Bureau on August 14, China has made breakthroughs in a number of key core technologies in the digital field after years of sustained efforts. China's comprehensive strength in AI has achieved systemic and holistic advancements, with AI patent applications accounting for 60 percent of the global total. Breakthroughs have also been realized in areas such as humanoid robots and smart terminals. Layout of integrated circuit has been accelerated, forming a complete industrial chain covering design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, materials, and equipment.

China has made significant strides in developing digital infrastructure. By the end of June this year, the total number of 5G base stations reached 4.55 million, the number of gigabit broadband users reached 226 million, ranking second worldwide in total computing power.

In terms of the data from the National Data Development Research Institute, the number of data-related enterprises in China had exceeded 400,000, the data sector's scale reached 5.86 trillion yuan by the end of 2024. The sector is expected to maintain a high growth rate in the coming years.  An industrial ecosystem characterized by deep data mining and integrated applications, algorithmic computing power, and highly integrated data has been shaping, and the innovation vitality of the industry chain continues to grow.
