On March 20th, Via Licensing Alliance (“Via LA”) and Huawei announced Huawei’s intention to reach a strategic partnership with Via LA on the video codec patent pool as both a patent licensor and licensee. Huawei is an important contributor to the current global video standard technology (including HEVC, VVC, etc.). Via LA is a global leading patent pool management company, providing standard patent technology portfolios and one-stop convenient licensing.
