China’s first data intellectual property pilot launched in Beijing

On May 22, Zhou Liquan, the deputy director of the Beijing Intellectual Property Office, stated at a press conference on the construction of the "Two Zones" that Beijing has become the only city in China approved by the State Council to carry out a data intellectual property pilot, and the only place nationwide to fully complete pilot work such as rule-making, registration practices, protection cases, transaction use, and data asset’s inclusion, which has been approved by the CNIPA and recognized as excellent.

At present, there are a total of 157 data intellectual property registration applications received by the Beijing Data Intellectual Property Registration System, and 108 of them have obtained data intellectual property registration certificates after public display without objection. Other data intellectual property promotion and protection work is progressing smoothly.
