【GE CHENG News】CNIPA: PPH Cooperation Agreements Have Been Signed with 30 Patent Examination Offices

The "Patent Prosecution Highway" (PPH) has become one of the important ways for Chinese applicants to seek rapid patent protection in foreign markets.  As of the end of 2020, CNIPA has signed PPH cooperation agreements with 30 patent examination offices in the world.

The PPH project is currently the most extensive and active international patent examination cooperation project in the world.  Since CNIPA first launched the bilateral PPH pilot program with the Japan Patent Office in 2011, PPH partners have rapidly increased, covering patent examination offices in the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Brazil and other countries and regions, covering 16 partners in the domain of “one belt, one road”.

As of the end of June 2020, Chinese applicants have submitted a total of 9,066 PPH requests, with an average annual growth rate of 22.6%.
